Plan Your Visit To The Little Debbie Park

If you’re anything like my family you grew up with Little Debbie Snack Cakes. They are something of a tradition in our family with my brother and I always buying our dad his favorite for Christmas. By the way, its usually a stupid amount of boxes (lol). When I heard about the Little Debbie park in Tennessee I knew I had to go visit.

It’s pretty common for us to jump in a car and road trip to fun spots so my Dad wasn’t even slightly surprised when mom and I announced our road trip to Tennessee. On the way to the park we spent one night car camping and then arrived bright and early the next morning at Little Debbie Park.

Fun fact: If you spend the night in your Subaru Outback and lock yourself inside, you will set off the alarm when you open the door the next morning to get out. A little embarrassing at the campground at 6 a.m. Lesson learned.

Arriving at the park we were excited to start exploring. I will say I wish there were more playground “treats” in the park instead of the four giant snack cakes. The four snack cakes represented are the oatmeal cookie, brownie, nutty buddy, and Christmas tree. Fun, but with only four treats it didn’t really take much time to visit. However, I do understand that it’s a city park not really meant to be a tourist destination.

The park is a nice size and well maintained, but it would have been great if there were more fun “snacks cakes” to explore. I appreciated that the pathway around the park had the history of Little Debbie on storyboards and even a statue of her.

In my opinion, the park is probably best to visit Spring-Fall. There are markets at the Commons next door throughout the summer season and it’s worth visiting if one is going on during your visit.

If you are in the area or will be driving through I definitely a stop but it’s probably not worth going out of your way to see.

FAQ’s To Make Your Trip Planning Easier

Where Is Little Debbie Park Located?

The park is located in Collegedale, TN which is about 40 minutes east from Chattanooga, TN. It’s in a commercial/office building area with lots of nearby apartment buildings.

What Will You See

You’ll find Little Debbie treats in the park and the playground. The treats include Oatmeal Cream Pie, Nutty Buddy, Brownie, and Christmas Tree Cake. A nice walking path goes around the perimeter of the park and the playground. It is along the trail that you’ll find the markers about the history of Little Debbie.

How Long You Should Spend There

If childless adults are going for the nostalgia of Little Debby I’d recommend about 30-45 minutes to stroll the pathway and check out the larger than life snack cakes. If you are taking kids, pack a picnic (there’s a great picnic area with picnic tables and clean restrooms) and spend a couple hours.

Hours

The park is open 24 hours, though it’s probably best to visit sunrise to dusk.

Events At The Park

The Commons (right next to the park) is home to the Community Center with multiple markets and special events held throughout the year. Check their Facebook to see what events are happening!

Where To Go After The Park

After hanging out at the park head over to the Little Debbie store just a couple minutes away. Inside you’ll find some clothing, trinkets, and, of course, snacks!
