Scarecrows Are Set To Invade Woodstock, GA This Fall

Scarecrow Invasion Woodstock

Be sure to mark your calendar now for the Woodstock scarecrow invasion happening again this October. The 2024 WDSTK Scarecrow Invasion will feature 200+ amazing scarecrow designs from local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals.

The Scarecrow Invasion officially begins on October 1st and will be displayed throughout the month. The event brings thousands of people to Downtown Woodstock during the month of October, encouraging both locals and visitors to the area.

Last year there was a new layout for the scarecrow displays, with all Main Street locations situated north of Arnold Mill, and the majority of displays visible within the Park City Center and Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater. This years layout is yet to be announced but hopefully it will continue with last years display which had the majority of scarecrows to be on display within the Park and Amphitheater. That location allowed visitors to more safely walk and admire the designs.

This is definitely an event that requires spending some time strolling around town and appreciate all the entries for the Woodstock Scarecrow Invasion. You’ll also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite Scarecrow. Votes can be cast at the Woodstock Visitors Center, located at 8588 Main Street, on Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm for a small fee of a $1 donation per vote. Proceeds benefit the Downtown Woodstock beautification projects.

As always the year will see the return of the Woodstock Scarecrow Invasion Scavenger Hunt. The hunt features ten clues related to specific scarecrows scattered throughout the area. Participants set out to find the correct scarecrows aligned with the associated clues. This fun and free activity is both adult and child friendly. The clue sheets will be available at the Woodstock Visitors Center. Participants that solve all the clue can turn in their results for a prize.
